Creativity Unlimited

It turns out that Laura Bradley, the young lady playing Dorothy in the production of The Wizard of Oz where I'm playing the Cowardly Lion, is very talented in ways beyond her voice and acting ability.

Take a look at the ensemble she put together out of duct tape for her prom.
It's Entry #3564, Laura in a green dress and a guy in a silver uniform, at www.stuckatprom.com. You can find it by clicking on the "Roll the Vote" button then going to Page 13. Vote for Laura if you have a chance.

I'm gratified to see such amazing creativity exhibited.

I wonder if anyone has ever done a production of The Wizard of Oz with costumes for the leads made from duct tape?

Beautiful Voices -- Welsh Children's Choir

I haven't been blogging in quite a while. My family and I spent two weeks traveling in Britain, spending a week in London and a week in Cardiff. The highlight of our trip was visiting a Welsh-language primary school in Caerphilly and hearing a marvelous children's choir there.

The choir is very professional and their talents would be envied by any high school or adult church choir in the States. Mrs. Gwenllian Jenkins is the headmistress at the school and it was clear that she and her team have made the school a very special place for their students. We greatly appreciate Mrs. Jenkins' hospitality and the efforts of Steve and Peta from South Wales Personal Tours in recommending and arranging our visit. It's something we'll always remember.

I've always loved to sing and it's wonderful to see the connection to the tradition of choral singing that's so strong in Wales.

The school is right across the street from Caerphilly Castle, the largest castle in Wales and one of the largest in Europe. But for the children at the school it's just part of the background.
